I would like to fully recommend Mr Shaw and his building company, AMS Building Services to you in order to carry out any form of building works required, from outright new build, small and major extensions as well other attention to detail of internal/external specification to your property/properties for the position on offer.
In his role, I have known Mr Shaw for just over 2 years as he was appointed to undertake a major extension at our property, and out of the 14 building tenders received and interviewed for a significantly complicated structure work on a huge extension, Mark scored significantly high in not only his methodology to eradicate some tough decisions regarding stability and ground works but on price and timescale to deliver the end result.
He has excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as vast experience in a ‘hands on’ approach and very much customer focused. He manages his staff extremely well and is always organized. His attention to detail is second to none and will clean up after every evening to ensure that the property and external areas are clean and tidy. His timekeeping is superb.
Mr Shaw is remarkably trustworthy, for example we had two weeks holiday abroad throughout the build programme and had left him and his small team of men to ensure we had an oak floor laid, kitchen fitted and in working order for when we returned home, and sure enough it was.
Mr Shaw would always guarantee that if there was uncertainty about any part of the job, he would always check with the customer before progressing any further. He is very patient as I am sure he will confirm as we were always changing our mind on certain internal finishes, but this did not appear to be an issue for Mr Shaw, despite having a contract in place.
In conclusion, we can honestly say that Mr Shaw is an extremely genuine person and is competent to carry out any task he is set and his work is exemplary. I highly recommend AMS building services for any building work/decorating task that is on offer.

AMS Builders were recommended to us through an associate and we asked them as one of several builders to provide a quotation for the extension that we were planning on having constructed. Having large scale building work can be daunting and there can be a certain amount of trepidation of employing any builder especially one that you aren’t familiar with. From the outset we found Mr Shaw very friendly and willing but also he seemed genuinely interested in assisting us with our project.
We had a good feeling about Mark from the initial meeting this was confirmed by the quotation. Not only was this very competitive but returned much in advance of any of the quotations and far more detailed. Effectively we found a great care had been taken over the quotation and this has continued into the job itself.
Since the start of the job we have been impressed by the professionalism of AMS. The work being carried out has been to a very high standard whilst the site itself has been keep extremely tidy. The employees of AMS are hardworking, conscientious, polite and courteous and it has been a pleasure having them work at our house.
At all times we have been kept informed of the schedule of the job and what will be happening at various stages, whilst Mark has been fantastic in offering advice whether to help with costs or to improve the overall effect of the work that is taking place.
I would heartily recommend AMS on the basis of the work that we have received so far. The care, professionalism and friendly service has made us feel that rather than this being ‘another job’ there is a genuine individual interest and concern in the work being undertaken for us and a real sense of a pride in the work that is being done.
